Just reduced in price to €37,000! This is a ready to move into village house (well, okay it probably needs a bit of work on the bathroom and kitchen). Just a few kilometres from Corfu Town, Evropouli is a traditional village and this house would be a good investment as a base for holidays, or year-round living. It's also possible to extend upwards and make a roof terrace.

On my way to bed last night, I took a last look at the moon from our upstairs terrace. The scattered clouds obscuring the bright light created this wonderful effect. Lovely summer evenings - one of the very best parts of living in Corfu!

Not just a wonderful selection of paintings to admire, but in an outstanding setting as well. Yesterday we visited the recently renovated old home of the Conti family which is hosting an exhibition of Frankie Cranfield's art. Frankie is well-known in Corfu for her pastel coloured depictions of houses and trees, boats and animals, and her paintings looked their best displayed on the walls of this lovely old house. I believe it is hoped that the ground floor will be regularly used for similar exhibitions.

Coffee time in Lakones village, in the little square. A young local man has opened a really nice traditional kafenion in the heart of this touristy area. The décor is just right - old furniture, old photos on the walls, tables on the pavement - and cushions on the wall across the other side of the square underneath a tree. Best of all - Greek music playing gently in the background! The essentials, though, were all present and correct - a really good cappuccino at a very reasonable price.
